A short drive up onto the plateau leads to a well-established campground with grassed sites, drinking water, and cooking facilities close at hand. It's the perfect spot to ease into the outdoors, explore nearby Purling Brook Falls, and soak in the wild beauty of the Gold Coast hinterland, a genuine first step into adventure with the comforts still close by.




Mount Barney National Park
Lower Portals Hike-In Bush Camp
Tucked into the foothills of Mount Barney, Lower Portals is a true hike-in bush camp, everything you need is carried in on your back, so packing light and packing smart is part of the challenge. A 3.7km trail through forest and creek crossings leads to a remote, self-sufficient campsite beside Mount Barney Creek, with no vehicle access and no facilities once you're in. It's the perfect spot to rest your legs, cool off in a deep, rocky swimming hole, and soak in the wild beauty of the Scenic Rim, a genuine lesson in resilience and doing more with less.

Surrounded by eucalypt forest and wildlife, it’s the perfect place to test your skills, build fitness, and enjoy a bush adventure just minutes from the city.

The Mt Blaine summit trail has sections that are steep, hands-on, and it earns every bit of the payoff: 360-degree views stretching across Brisbane, Ipswich, and the Scenic Rim. This one's for those ready to get their hands dirty on the rocks, and feel the reward of standing on top of it all.

Located just south of Brisbane, the Mt Cotton Mountain Bike Trails offer a mix of flowing singletrack, technical climbs, and scenic forested tracks. Popular with riders of all skill levels, the trails wind through bushland and provide opportunities for skill-building, exercise, and enjoying the natural surroundings.

The Pipeline trail at Gap Creek is a fast, flowing singletrack featuring berms, rollers, and technical sections that challenge intermediate to advanced riders. Rated Black-diamond, this trail winds through lush bushland, and is loved for its adrenaline-packed features all while enjoying the natural scenery of the Gap Creek forest.
